Frequent intraoperative fluoroscopy is used during creation of the femoral tunnel (both anteroposterior and lateral images). Attention is paid to keep the guide wire and subsequent reamer in the “kid's zone”: distal to the physis, anterior to Blumensaat's line, and posterior to the trochlear groove on both anteroposterior and lateral radiographs.
