Figure 1.

Figure 1 is a flowchart titled Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Study (CLHLS). CLHLS survey from 2002 to 2014 includes 26,675 Total participants, from 2002 wave (9,748 newly recruited), 2005 wave (7,459 newly recruited), and 2008 wave (9,468 newly recruited). Out of which, 7,689 participants with poor cognitive function, 4,690 participants lost-to-follow-up at the first follow-up survey, 81 participants with unavailable accumulated fine particulate matter, and 891 participants with stroke at baseline were excluded. The remaining 13,324 participants were elderly with normal cognition at baseline met with the following inclusion criteria: 5,879 younger elderly (65 to 79 years of age), 3,052 octogenarians (80 to 89 years of age), 2,634 nonagenarians (90 to 99 years of age), and 1,759 centenarians (100 and older years of age). In total, 3271 participants suffered with poor cognitive function, 5994 suffered death, 2636 censored at the end of the follow-up, and 1423 censored due to loss to follow-up.
