Assessment of the expression of Lhcgr and Prlr mRNA during the post-ovulatory period in gcCbfb;Runx2KO mice. Ovaries collected at 24, 48, and 72 h after hCG administration were used to examine the expression of mRNA for Lhcgr (A) and Prlr (B) by in situ hybridization analyses (n = 3 animals/genotype). Transcripts for each gene were detected as green fluorescence signals. The ovarian sections were counterstained with propidium iodide (red). Arrows point to the CL expressing Lhcgr and Prlr mRNA in control animals, and the symbol (*) was placed in unruptured follicles and poorly luteinized collapsed follicles in gcCbfb;Runx2KO mice.
