(A) Schematic diagram of the experimental protocol for in vivo treatment with MES₅₅₀₀. (B-H) BALB/c mice were treated with MES₅₅₀₀ for 20 min, and injected with ConA (i.v.; 1 mg/kg). Mice were treated again with MES₅₅₀₀. Four hr later, total RNA from mice spleen was extracted for analysis of the indicated cytokine (B-E). Mouse spleen size (F-G) and weight (H) are shown. (I-L) BALB/c mice were injected with CsA (see Methods), and treated with MES₅₅₀₀ and ConA as above. Total RNA from mice spleen was extracted to analyze the indicated cytokines.
