Table 3A.
NE and DHPG levels (nM/L) in PSP, PD and Control (Mean ± SD).
| PSP (Mean ± SD) | PD (Mean ± SD) | CON (Mean ± SD) | PSP vs. PD (p-value) | CON vs. PSP (p-value) | CON vs. PD (p-value) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NE (nM/L) | 6.26 ± 3.19 | 2.15 ± 1.2 | 8.61 ± 4.51 | 0.04 | ns | 0.002 |
| DHPG (nM/L) | 10.69 ± 3.66 | 10.32 ± 3.67 | 11.29 ± 4.95 | ns | ns | ns |
Mean differences between the groups were assessed by factorial analyses of variance carried out on log-transformed data, with Fisher’s Least Significant Difference post hoc test. Log transformation was performed because the standard deviation of the neurochemical measures varied withthe means. Comparisons between groups were performed using the Mann–Whitney U-test for non-parametric numerical variables.
