Biopsies with confirmed active EoE were sorted into 5 groups by K-means clustering using inflammatory genes IL4, IL5, IL13, CCL26, TSLP, CLC, CCR3, and CPA3. Using a published algorithm16, patients with active EoE were assigned to one of three EoE endotypes: benign (EoEe1), inflammatory (EoEe2), or fibrostenotic (EoEe3).
