Number of persons diagnosed with cancer that had vital status deceased and coded with cause-specific death classification of death attributable to cancer diagnosis divided by the incident cases.
Date of cancer diagnosis based on date recorded in cancer registry, many times based on date of pathology review of cancer tissue. Date of death based on date on death certificate or last clinical date entered in the cancer registry if date of death not recorded.
