Test application of the 118 bp GUW1 amplicon for sex identification of 30 neonates of H. armigera. Genomic DNA samples individually extracted from 30 neonates of <5 h were used as the templates to PCR-amplify the W-linked GUW1 with the primer pair GUW1-118-F and GUW1-118-R (Supplementary Table S2) and the autosomal gene EF-1α with the primer pair EF1α-F and EF1α-R (Supplementary Table S2). Lanes numbered with 1–30 represent the 30 neonates. Std, molecular weight marker. NC, negative control (no template control) for GUW1 and EF-1α.
