Type I IFN alone increases inflammatory transcript in uninfected macrophages. 500 units of IFN were added to WT B6 BMDMs that were left unpolarized as M0s (n=5) or polarized to an M2 subset (n=5) (A) or Ifnar1^−/− BMDMs (n=2) left unpolarized as M0s (B).
