In the ES group, the following subgroups were included as based on the duration of surgery (min, minutes), 19 patients <180 min, 48 patients from 181 to 249 min, 18 patients from 241 to 300 min and 18 patients > 300 min. Demographics, like age and sex did not differ significantly between the subgroups except for lower extremity surgery, which was performed less often in the subgroup with surgery time exceeding 300 min, respectively, p = 0.021. ^* denotes intergroup p = 0.024 between duration of surgery less and more than 300 min.
