Fig. 1 — Forest plot showing effect sizes for mean differences in immune parameters in depression compared with healthy controls. There were significantly higher levels in patients with depression compared with controls for IL-1 α; IL-1 β; IL-2; IL-3; IL-6; IL-7; IL-8; IL-10; IL-12; IL-18; IL-1Ra; IL-2R; IL-6R; TNF α; and CRP. There was a significant reduction in IL-4 in patients compared with controls. There was no significant difference in TGF β; IFNγ; IL-13; IL-5 in patients compared with controls.
