Susceptible humans (Hs) become infected (Hi) at rate Tmh when bitten by infected adult mosquitoes (Mi). Infected humans recover at rate γ and become resistant to infection (Hr). Uninfected adult mosquitoes (Mn) become infected (Mi) at rate Thm by biting an infected human. Juvenile mosquitoes in each patch (Mj,p) are produced from adult mosquitoes in that patch (Mn,p and Mi,p) at a density-dependent rate, ν, and mature to become uninfected adult mosquitoes (Mn,p) at rate g. Adult mosquitoes in each patch, p, migrate to each adjacent patch, q, at rate Dp,q and migrate from each adjacent patch, q, at rate Dq,p. Adult mosquitoes die and are removed from the population at rate μ.
