Differences in muscle dynamics between intact and reinnervated cohorts suggest that guinea fowl use a combination of feedforward and intrinsic mechanical mechanisms to compensate for disrupted proprioceptive reflexes, suggesting interconnected plasticity of neural and musculoskeletal mechanisms in the recovery from nerve injury.
