Treatment with everolimus and N-acetylcysteine regulates the expression of ECM protein degradation and rearrangement associated genes in HSCs. HSCs were treated with drugs for 14 d and the mRNA expression of MMP-2 (A), MMP-9 (B), MMP-13 (C), and TIMP-1 (D) were analyzed by PCR and the mRNA level of each gene were normalized to that of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase.
