Simplified structure of an immunoglobulin (IgG). Inset shows an example of an IgG Fc diantennary oligosaccharide, which in normal IgG, is attached at an asparagine residue at position 297 (Asn-297). Generally, the oligosaccharide has a core pentasaccharide with varying addition of galactose, fucose, sialic acid, and N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc).
