A. Extracts of freshly isolated unstimulated WT and Timp-1^−/− PMNs were prepared and assayed in duplicate to quantify Mmp-9 levels using an ELISA.

B. WT and Timp-1^−/− PMNs were incubated at 37°C with or without 10⁻⁶M fMLP for 30 min and cell-free supernatants samples harvested and assayed in duplicate to quantify Mmp-9 levels using an ELISA.
