Data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA, and results are expressed as percent change from control mean of 100% ± SEM of n = 4–6 animals per group. UCP4 protein levels were significantly different as a function of sex (* p < 0.05) and as a function of genotype (* p < 0.05) only at 2 months, with a trend towards a significant interaction effect between sex and genotype (p = 0.067).
