Expression of nAChR subunits in lung and brain tissue. α2, α5, α7, α9 and α10 nAChR subunits are expressed in lung and brain tissue of naïve wild type (WT) mice suggesting a possible role in anti-inflammatory cholinergic signaling after stroke. RNA was isolated from lung and brain tissue, and expression levels were determined by qRT-PCR. Target gene expression was normalized to β-actin as the housekeeping gene.
