Effect of different P. gingivalis LPS preparations on gene expression of IL-6, IL-8, and MCP-1 in hPDLSCs. Primary hPDLSCs were stimulated with commercially available “standard” P. gingivalis LPS (1 μg/ml), “ultrapure” P. gingivalis LPS (1 μg/ml), and “ultrapure” E. coli LPS (1 μg/ml) in the presence (250 ng/ml) of sCD14 for 4 or 24 h. Gene expression levels of IL-6, IL-8, and MCP-1 were measured by qPCR. The y-axis represents the n-fold expression levels of the target gene in relation to unstimulated cells (n = 1).
