Src activates YAP through three main mechanisms: (1) direct phosphorylation at sites Y341, Y357, and Y394 leads to the nuclear translocation of YAP; (2) the repression of Hippo kinases by direct inhibition and/or the activation of pathways, such as MAPK, PI3K, Rho, and STATs, suppresses Hippo kinases; and (3) a Hippo-independent mechanism.
