Effects of taurine on the transcriptional expression of monoamine oxidase (MAO) and lipin-1 in tissues. (A) The relative basal mRNA expression levels of MAO-A, MAO-B, and lipin-1 were compared in the three tissues of the normal diet (N) group. (B) The mRNA expression levels were compared to evaluate the effect of HFD and/or taurine supplementation on each tissue of the three groups: N normal diet group (n = 5), HFD high-fat diet group (n = 5), and H + Tau HFD + taurine (2% in drinking water) group (n = 5). Differences between the three groups were analyzed using the nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test as described in Figure 2.
