Figure 2.
IgG antibody response in mice immunized with the formulations containing PvCSP-AllFL, PvAMA-1, and poly(I:C) adjuvant. Groups of female BALB/c (A) and C57BL/6 (B) mice aged 6–8 weeks were immunized (s.c.) with 10 µg of each recombinant protein and poly(I:C) (50 µg/dose). The IgG titers were measured by ELISA against PvCSP-AllFL and PvAMA-1. The antibodies anti-PvCSP-AllFL recognized the different allelic variants of PvCSP and were directed to central repeats. The anti-PvCSP-AllFL antibodies, induced in C57BL/6, were tested for their recognition of recombinant proteins representing the PvCSP variants (VK210, VK247, and P. vivax-like), and these repeats were fused to flagelina FliC (FliC-PvCSP repeats) (C). The results are expressed as the arithmetic mean titers of each group in log10 ± SEM and were statistically compared using one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey‘s test for multiple comparisons. Significant differences between groups are denoted on the graph: *** p < 0.001. Nonsignificant (ns) differences are indicated (p > 0.05).
