Virus clearance from HMPV-infected secretome abolishes the pro-Th2 effects. The DCs were treated for 48 h with mock secretome, HMPV-infected secretome or with secretomes derived from HMPV-infected L-HMVECs where the virus was cleared by size exclusion (filtration) or ultracentrifugation. DCs were then co-incubated with allogenic naïve CD4 T cells for seven days. Bars represent the mean ± SEM of IL-4-producing cells (%) detected upon the described culture conditions.
