Diet and antibiotics differentially impact the relative abundance of gut microbial taxa along the length of the gut. C57Bl6 mice were fed a low fat (LF) and high fat (HF) diet and treated with vehicle control, rifaximin or an antibiotic cocktail for 4 weeks. The relative abundance of different taxa are illustrated. Note the relative change in abundance as a function of diet in the jejunum. Note the relative change in abundance as a function of antibiotic treatment in the stool and cecum.
