Notes: The Griffiths Mental Development Scales version III was used for the developmental evaluation. This contains five separate scales: loco motor, personal‐social, hearing and speech, eye and hand coordination, and foundations of learning/performance. The total developmental quotient (DQ) and sub‐quotients were calculated as outlined in the manual. The mean DQ is 100 and a SD of 13 for the whole population as per the test manual for each domain (Griffiths R. The abilities of young children. High Wycombe, UK: The Test Agency, 1976.). Thus, DQ score of less than 80 with a percentile score of <5 was considered as abnormal.
