Comparison of the mean and standard error of parameters of calcium handling measured by Fura-4f dye labeling of rat, mouse, and guinea pig cardiomyocytes. Advanced statistical tests are applied to mouse and rat populations to indicate statistically significant differences between the kinetic parameters. Results from a number of preparations are presented using simple statistics (mean ± standard deviation) and using hierarchical statistics [mean ± standard deviation and (ICC)]. The p values column presents the calculations of p using Student’s t test or the hierarchical method.
