Fig 4. Trimer formation in kindlins.

Fig 4

(a) Analytical gel filtration chromatography of kindlin-3 expressed and purified from HEK 293 mammalian cells indicates both monomeric and trimeric states in solution. (b) Analytical gel filtration chromatography of kindlin-2 expressed and purified from Sf9 insect cells indicates both monomeric and trimeric states in solution. (c) SEC-MALS analysis of kindlin-2 and kindlin-3 expressed and purified from Sf9 insect cells. Consistent with the analytical gel filtration chromatography, kindlin-3 forms both monomer (blue) and trimer (red) in solution. Likewise, kindlin-2 also forms monomer (pink) and trimer (purple). All samples were analyzed by SDS-PAGE before loading into the column. HEK, human embryonic kidney; SEC-MALS, size-exclusion chromatography multiangle light scattering; Sf9, Spodoptera frugiperda 9.
