Distribution of psychological and activity parameters. The beanplots show the individual observations as small blue lines in a one-dimensional scatter plot. The probability density functions (pdf) of the distributions are shown as green areas. Box and whisker plots of the same data are drawn below the beanplots. They have been constructed using the minimum, quartiles, median (solid black red line within the box), and maximum. The whiskers add 1.5 times the interquartile range (IQR) to the 75th percentile or subtract 1.5 times the IQR from the 25th percentile and are expected to include 99.3% of the data if normally distributed. The notches indicate the confidence interval around the median based on median±1.57IQR/n0.5. The figure has been created using library “beanplot” (https://cran.r-project.org/package=beanplot [59]) for the R software package (version 3.5.1 for Linux; http://CRAN.R-project.org/ [25]).
