Figure 5

Anti-fimbriae antibodies from the immunized groups inhibited adherence of porcine ETEC strains to porcine small intestinal cell lines. A Serum samples from the immunized groups significantly inhibited K88+, F18+, K99+, 987P+, and F41+ ETEC strains to the IPEC-1 cell line. B Serum samples from the immunized groups significantly inhibited K88+, F18+, K99+, 987P+, and F41+ ETEC strains to the IPEC-J2 cell line. The number of adherent bacteria (CFU) was converted to percentages, with CFU from cells treated with control group serum set to 100%. The results are expressed as mean ± standard deviation of at least three independent experiments in three wells. **Indicates statistically significant difference when compared to the ETEC strains treated with control serum (P < 0.01).
