Methylated 12S mitoribosomal rRNA (mt-rRNA) residues in the human mitoribosomal small subunit as revealed by cryoEM. The structure of human 28S (PDB: 6RW4) reveals the distribution of 12S rRNA methylation sites (red). The proteins of the 28S are colored gray and the 12S mt-rRNA is in yellow.
