Frequency of blistered wing phenotype in T. castaneum pupae. No phenotype was seen in T. castaneum larvae injected with saline (control) or naked PAMAM-CNTs after pupation. A blistered phenotype was observed, post-pupation, in larvae injected with dsRNAαtub or PAMAM-CNT-dsRNAαtub exposed. The phenotype was significantly more frequent in the PAMAM-CNT-dsRNAαtub injected group compared to dsRNAαtub alone (P = 0.016). The data are presented as means ± SEM (n = 41 per treatment). Different letters indicate a significant difference in survival between treatments (a > b > c).
