22 April 2020	New search has been performed	A search of the Cystic Fibrosis and Genetic Disorders Review Group's Haemoglobinopathies Trials Register identified three new references to a study previously identified from a trials registry and excluded (Lee 2018). Three new studies were identified from trial registries and these studies were listed as ongoing (NCT03417947; NCT04170348; PACTR201803003160262). Due to the expansion in the scope of the review, we have now included two studies that were previously excluded (Dougherty 2015; Lee 2018). Changes have been made in results of the search and study flow diagram (Figure 1).
22 April 2020	New citation required and conclusions have changed	The scope of the review has been expanded to include comparisons of different doses of vitamin D supplementation and not just comparisons to placebo or no supplementation.
