Trial name or title An evaluation of validated laparoscopic skills simulators and the impact on operating room performance.
Methods Randomised clinical trial.
Participants Ob/Gyn residents in postgraduate years 1 to 4 from ACGME accredited programmes.
Interventions Group 1: Laparoscopic simulation training (5 x 30‐minute faculty‐directed sessions at the laparoscopic simulator lab).
Group 2: Traditional surgical training.
Outcomes Operative performance.
Starting date August 2005.
