Methods	Randomised, controlled, cross‐over trial
Participants	45 patients
Interventions	4 groups: 1) tinnitus maskers, 2) tinnitus instruments (combined maskers and hearing aids), 3) hearing aids, and 4) exposure to 'environmental sounds'
Outcomes	Patients were asked to detail their duration of instrument use, under what conditions they used the device and the effect that the instrument had in controlling their symptoms
