Colonic secretion of pro- and anti-inflammatory mediators in Campylobacter infected conventional mice. Conventionally colonized C57BL/6 mice were perorally infected with C. jejuni (open circles) or C. coli (closed circles) on day (d) 0 and d1 by gavage. On day 21 post-infection, (A) IFN-γ, (B) TNF-α, (C) MCP-1, (D) IL-6, (E) IL-12p70 and (F) IL-10 concentrations were determined in supernatants derived from colonic ex vivo biopsies. Naive mice served as negative control animals (open diamonds).
