The flat, smooth surface was a sheet of Sintra®Board, which had coefficients of forward and backward static friction of 0.17 and 0.22, respectively. The outlines of the snake were traced from filmed images, and the areas shaded black indicate simultaneous activity of the ipsilateral SSP, LD, and IC muscle segments.
