Model of structure of tetraspanin-7. The three-dimensional structure of Tspan7 was modelled by SWISS-MODEL [56] using the structure of CD81 as template. The figure shows the short and long ectodomains in green and orange, respectively, the four transmembrane domains arranged in a cone-like structure in red and the three short cytoplasmic domains arranged close together in blue. Epitopes for antibodies in type 1 diabetes are likely to lie within the cytoplasmic domains
