Murine retina was scanned four times, each scan containing a segment of the ONH in a 1.3 × 1.3-mm2 square. The central region is defined by a 1-mm-diameter circle centered on the ONH. The peripheral retina is any area outside of the central region. Only left eyes were imaged in this study. Retinal images are segmented into four azimuthal regions: nasal, superior, temporal, and inferior.
