The results of prospective undersampling experiment using 3D GE‐EPTI with VDS temporal‐variant sampling. Whole‐brain ${\mathrm{T}}_2^{\ast }$‐weighted images with 57 echoes at 1 mm isotropic resolution was acquired in only 52 seconds. ${\mathrm{T}}_2^{\ast }$‐weighted images, quantitative ${\mathrm{T}}_2^{\ast }$ maps and tissue phase are presented in three orthogonal views
