Effects of palmitate and resveratrol on serine (ser307 and ser636/639) phosphorylation and expression of IRS-1. Whole-cell lysates from L6 myotubes treated without (control, C) or with 0.4 mM palmitate (P), in the absence or the presence 25 µM resveratrol (RSV) were prepared, resolved by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS–PAGE) and immunoblotted for phosphorylated ser307, ser636/639, total IRS-l or β-actin. A representative immunoblot is shown (A). The densitometry of the bands, expressed in arbitrary units, was measured using the Scion software.
