Effects of palmitate and resveratrol on AMPK phosphorylation and expression. Whole-cell lysates from L6 myotubes treated without (control, C) or with 0.4 mM palmitate (P) in the absence or the presence 25 µM resveratrol (RSV) were prepared, resolved by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS–PAGE) and immunoblotted for phosphorylated thr172, total AMPK or β-actin. A representative immunoblot is shown (A). The densitometry of the bands, expressed in arbitrary units, was measured using the Scion software. The data are the mean ± SE of three separate experiments presented as percent of control (B).
