Potential route of SARS‐CoV‐2 entry from the peripheral nervous system (PNS) into the central nervous system (CNS). The virions bind to the receptors on the peripheral nerves and are then transported via the retrograde transport system using microtubule‐associated molecular motor dynein (from + to – end) towards the neuronal cell body (soma).
