Tribulus terrestris increased the cell viability of oxidative stressed ARPE-19 cells through PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. ARPE-19 cells were treated with or without 1 mM H2O2 for 24 h, then cells were exposed to 200 μg/mL EE-TT after 1 h treatment with the inhibitors of 10 μM LY294002, or 0.25 μM SCH772984, or 0.5 μM of AEB071, respectively. The viability of cells was measured by the MTS assay and was expressed as a percentage of the control group (nontreated cells). All data are shown as mean ± SD, p < 0.05, ∗∗p < 0.01, ∗∗∗p < 0.001vs. the sample with H2O2 treated only cells; #p < 0.05, ##p < 0.01 vs. the sample with H2O2 and EE-TT treated cells.
