General genome statistics, including genome size, GC-content, contig number and other quality characteristics (presence of 16S, 23S and 5S rRNA genes). Additionally, the degree of genome completeness, contamination and strain heterogeneity was estimated using CheckM. 0-2: Number of single-copy marker proteins present in each genome. The CheckM results were investigated for markers commonly absent in DPANN archaea (Supplementary Discussion) and CheckM was rerun excluding seven marker proteins. The results of this analysis are shown in parentheses.
