Gelatinolytic activity in jejunal tissue of necrotic enteritis affected birds. Lesions and macroscopically unaffected jejunal tissue 1 cm adjacent to the lesion was derived from broilers receiving a predisposing Eimeria infection, followed by a pathogenic C. perfringens type G strain (CP56) challenged. Gelatinolytic activity was analyzed by gelatin zymography and quantification of the digested spots is expressed in arbitrary units = 100OD/mm2. = p ≤ 0.05 (Paired Student’s t-test).
