Fig. 7

Exposure of J774A.1 cells to HOCl or HOSCN induces alterations in MAPK phosphorylation. J774A.1 cells (1 × 106 cells) were treated with 100 μM HOCl (A and C) or 200 μM HOSCN (B and D) at 37 °C for different treatment times (5–120 min). Panels A and B show representative Western blots for total and phosphorylated ERK1/2, JNK and p38. For the densitometry quantification shown in panels C and D, the density of bands corresponding to p-ERK1/2 bands (black bars), p-JNK (green bars) and p-p38 (orange bars) were normalized to the total (non-phosphorylated) ERK1/2, JNK, and p38 band density, respectively, with the data expressed as a fold change compared to the non-treated control group. *, **, *** and **** show a significant difference (p < 0.05, 0.01, 0.001 and 0.0001, respectively) compared to the non-treated control group at the same time point by 2-way ANOVA with a Dunnett's multiple comparison test.
