Aortae were collected 14 days after PPE infusion. After digestion into single cells, the aortae were stained with monoclonal antibodies against CD45, CD11b, and F4/80. Leukocytes (CD45+) (A), myeloid cells (CD45+ CD11b+) (B), and macrophages (CD45+ CD11b+F4/80+) (C) were analyzed by flow cytometry. Data presented as mean and SD of the percentages of leukocytes (P=0.039), myeloid cells (P=0.002), and macrophages (P=0.002) in total aortic cells. Unpaired t test with Welch's correction, **P<0.01 and *P<0.05 vs vehicle‐treated group, n=6 mice/group. PPE indicates porcine pancreatic elastase; and SPD, spermidine.
