Whole blood samples collected from heart 14 days after PPE infusion were stained with monoclonal antibodies against CD45, CD11b, Ly‐6C, and Ly‐6G. Inflammatory monocytes (CD11b+Ly‐6Chigh) and neutrophils (CD11b+Ly‐6G+) in blood samples in SPD or vehicle group were analyzed by flow cytometry. Data presented as mean and SD of the percentages of inflammatory monocytes (P=0.046) and neutrophils (P=0.043) in total leukocytes gated by forward scatter and CD45. Unpaired t test with Welch's correction, *P<0.05 vs vehicle‐treated group, n=4 to 6 mice/group. PPE indicates porcine pancreatic elastase; and SPD, spermidine.
