Intact cells appeared unstained (AnV- or PI-), apoptotic cells with phosphatidylserine (PS) externalization were green stained with FITC-Annexin (AnV+ PI-), and necrotic cells were red stained (AnV- PI+ or AnV+ PI+) with the broken plasma membrane.
