PDM4 is involved in RNA splicing of Arabidopsis group II introns. (A) Inefficient splicing of group II introns of ndhA, petB, ycf3-int-1, petD, and clpp1-int-1 in the mutant as determined by reverse-transcription (RT)-PCR. S, introns are spliced; U, introns are retained. (B) Northern-blot analysis for the transcript accumulation and pattern of ycf3, petB, petD, ndhA, rps14, and 18S rRNA. 5 μg of total RNA from 3-week-old seedlings was analyzed by hybridization to specific probes for each gene.
